What and Why to Decarb?

When preparing to make edibles you must first remember to ALWAYS Decarb your flower or concentrate in order to activate THCA and/or CBDA to ensure you receive the highest potency possible from your material.  Decarboxylation can be done in your oven at home or by using the Ardent Decarboxylator.  If you choose to decarb flower in your oven, there are 4 key points to.

1.       Set your oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit and be sure that one of the racks are towards the middle of the oven. You want to prevent using the top shelf.
2.       Place a piece of parchment paper (NOT WAX PAPER) on a baking sheet.
3.       Place your flower on the parchment paper. It is best to break your flower up into small nuggets. The size of a bean should be good. Do NOT grind your material as it could burn it.
4.       Place baking sheet in the oven for 45 minutes. After removing from the oven, let it cool for 5-10 minutes. It is ready to be used to infuse.

Get to know your dose: Start Low and Go Slow with cannabis

When cooking with cannabis, it is important to know the exact dosing of your items to reduce ingesting more than desired. Dosing is calculated by the quantity and quality of the cannabis you use to infuse. The typical dose is 10 mg per serving, but everyone’s body acts differently to ingested cannabis because of each person’s metabolism rates and the unpredictability of how long our digestive system can take to fully absorb the cannabis due to stomach contents.

It is important to start with a low dose and wait 1-2 hours before adding another dose. If you are inexperienced with edibles, you could start with a 5mg piece and take another, but remember that if you take too much you will have to wait it out. Start Low and Go Slow!

The Best Basic Infused Ingredients for Cannabis Users.

One of the easiest and most effective means of infusing with cannabis is by using the ingredients you normally would use to cook with but have them infused and ready to use. Some items that you can infuse with proper infusion techniques are butter, olive oil, sunflower oil, honey, and maple syrup and much more.

Most baked items use either butter or some type of oil and these ingredients can easily be infused and used in place of raw ingredients. In addition, infused honey can be used in many ways to receive a solid dose of CBD/THC. Cooking with cannabis is easy and dosing is safe and straight forward when you use DOSED.
